Demon Seed releases today. This book is dear to my heart principally because of the setting –- the mighty Orinoco, and the borders of Brazil, Venezuela, and Guyana. I’ve taken liberties with the geography and invented some of the river villages, but, hopefully, kept true to the atmosphere in the small towns that dot the these immense waterways. Here's the general location for Demon Seed.

I’ve been fortunate (or unfortunate in some cases – I did contract Malaria in this region of the world) to have visited places most people only hear about in movies or on National Geographic. The Orinoco and Essequibo rivers are awe-inspiring. The majesty, the sheer density and intensity of the numbers of creatures populating these bodies of water and the surrounding areas, is overwhelming.
But, even more than the setting, I love my dark, disturbed hero, Demon, and the woman who helps to wash away the sins of the world for him, Jacinta. I hope you enjoy reading Demon and Jacinta’s tale as much as I enjoyed writing it.
Cheers,
Jianne
