Wait Mode

I think there is nothing worse for an author than waiting for a reply from their editor/publisher. After you’ve completed a story and submitted it there is no guaranteed turn around time for a reply on acceptance or rejection.

Oh, you say, but you’ve been with this publisher for eons - why would they reject one of your manuscripts?

Hah!

Believe me it happens.

And the wait for an answer is agonizing.

My DH knows immediately when I’m in wait mode.

I check email constantly and normally I’m very disciplined with email. I have email notification turned off and I check email only three times a day, morning, noon, and last thing before quitting for the day. I have one personal email account that only my most intimate circle knows about for emergencies and that’s on always. BTW - it’s been used once.

I’m in wait mode and I have a new editor.

Double trouble.

I submitted Lucifer’s Choice last week.

Cross your fingers for me.

What triggers your wait mode?

Cheers,

Jianne

There'is nothing worse for an author than waiting for a reply from their editor on a manuscript. I'm in wait mode for the second Hades book.
