Have you heard about the documentary, Countdown to Zero?
It’s a film endorsed by several world leaders including Queen Noor of Jordan, and former CIA agent, Valerie Plame Wilson, that proposes eliminating nuclear weapons worldwide. The previews I’ve seen feature Iraq’s frightening and accelerating accumulation of nuclear weapons.
The documentary also shows how easy it is to acquire highly enriched uranium and once you have HEI, any terrorist can make a nuclear bomb. You can buy/smuggle/steal HEI at the drop of a hat.
I think of Diane Sawyer’s interview with the President of Iraq and I’m terrified. Can you imagine what lunatics and egomaniacs in positions of power could do with HEI? Especially those who quote religion to justify the killings of hundreds of innocent people.
This is one movie I intend to see even though I’m certain that I’ll leave the theatre depressed.
What a way to start the week.
